These consist of a piece of hard-rolled brass, fixe 1 by a wedge upon the flattened segment of a short cylindrical tube closed at one end, as O. This is inserted in a solid block resting in an inverted cone of sheet metal (termed a boot) and supports a tube which reinforces the tone required.
