M. Hypopitys: stem 6-8 inches high, bearing oblong or ovate concave scales instead of leaves; flowers few, in a short terminal raceme; the whole plant pale yellowish-brown. - Yellow Bircl's-Nest. - Fir, birch, and beech woods. Fl. June.
