B. officinalis: annual; stem erect, with spreading branches, 1-2 feet high; leaves obovate or oblong, narrowed at the base into long stalks, the upper more shortly stalked, narrower; flowers on long pedicels, in loose forked cymes, drooping, clear blue, the dark anthers very prominent. - Waste ground. Fl. June, July.
