S. bicolor: leaves radical, long, linear, grass-like; stem leafless, one foot high, with a loose terminal panicle of erect flowers; perianth spreading, of six oblong segments, white, purplish on the outside. - Sandy heaths in Kerry and Dorsetshire. Fl. May.
