An old-fashioned filling for scent-bags is made as follows:
Coriander seed, 14 pound, Powdered orris-root, 1/4 pound,
Aromatic calamus, 1/4 pound, Damask-rose leaves, 1/4 pound, Lavender blossoms, 2 ounces, Mace, 1/2 ounce, Cinnamon, 1/4 ounce, Cloves,1/4 ounce, Powdered musk, 2 drams.
Beat each separately, then mix well together.
