1 quart bran
1 quart buckwheat flour
1 quart barley flour
2 tablespoons salt
9 tbspns. baking powder 1 cup sugar or corn syrup 1/2 to 1 cup shortening 1 1/2 quarts milk or water
If sugar is used, add from three-fourths to one cup extra liquid. Sift dry ingredients together; add milk, syrup, and melted shortening. Bake as other muffins.
