This is one of the most valuable of all the climbers introduced during late years. It clings to the wall as ivy does, and will resist the coldest weather just as the common Virginian creeper does. It will in a single season cover an immense amount of space, though seemingly a weaker grower than the American species. No one who loves to have a pretty vine on a tree, fence or building, will regret planting it. We have seen it in various places from Canada to the Southern States, and it seems quite hardy everywhere.
