A beautiful stove plant introduced by Messrs. Veitch of London from the South Sea Islands, with a straight, erect stem, furnished at short intervals with digitate leaves on long foot-stalks, mottled with white on a dark green ground; the leaflets, from seven to ten in number, are filiform, deeply and unequally serrated, and gracefully pendulous. The color of the foliage is a deep green, shaded with brown; the mid-rib of each leaflet is of greenish white, and very distinct. A foliage plant of the first order.

ARALIA ELEGANTISSIMA.
