Common Frankincense. The concrete Turpentine obtained from the bark of Pinus TAeda, the Frankincense Pine, and Pinus Palustris, the Swamp pine. Imported from the Southern States of North America.
Med. Prop. and Action. It is only used externally as a stimulant, with other ingredients, in the form of plaster. It is contained in the Emplastrum Picis. (See Pix Burqundica.)
