Charges For Doctors' Dispensing

The usual charges are 1d. per ounce for mixtures, with a minimum of 4d.; lotions are generally charged at lower rates than mixtures, but with the same minimum; liniments are charged according to composition, a profit of 10 or 15 per cent. being added to the cost; pills, 3d. a dozen; and powders, 4d. a dozen. In all cases costly alkaloids as ingredients of the prescriptions justify extra charges.
