This runway, suitable for loads up to one ton, is made by Messrs. Herbert Morris, Ltd., and has a track made in section as Fig. 180.

For bending the track, cold, to any required curve, plates as Fig. 181 are secured on either side of an upright post, and bent by hand as shown in Fig. 182. Many varieties of hangers are supplied to hang the track from any joist, beam, or timber, etc., and Figs. 183 to 185 show three designs. For loads up to one eighth of a ton, one pair of wheels are supplied with the trolley, Fig. 186 shows a 1/4-ton trolley and block, while going in the same proportion Fig. 187 shows a 1-ton trolley, having 8 pairs of wheels. No more than 2 pairs are ever put upon a trolley unit by itself, in order that it can take any reasonable curve ; a half ton trolley would consist of exactly half the arrangement shown in Fig. 187. The track is supplied in 14-foot lengths, and the spacing for the hangers from the track to the supports above are required to be 24in., 18in., 15in., and 12in. apart for 1/8, 1/4, and 1 ton respectively. In erecting the track care should be taken to see that all curves are kept as large as possible, and also to see that the track is level horizontally along its length, as, unless definitely required, there is no possible advantage in allowing the track to be erected with humps in it. The system appears to be capable of being put up at a low cost, and without either special workmen or tools.
