(1) "KICK FIGHT" - contestants on opposite sides of a flutter board. Kick as hard as possible trying to force opponent back to a certain mark. Many variations such as, flutter vs. flutter, flutter vs. prong, flutter vs. scissors, etc.
(2) "BURLING" - two contestants sit on large smooth log and by rolling try to unseat each other.
(3) "LOG WALKING" - Keep body upright on log. Contest for longest time.
(4) "GREASED POLE" - Strap a greased pole or spar to the springboard and hang a white flag on the end. Try to walk long and grab flag from end.
(5) "PILLOW FIGHT" - Two contestants sit on greased pole and try to unseat each other by swatting with pillows.
(6) "TUB RACE" - while seated in large tub or buoy, paddle to goal with hands.
Swamped tub must be emptied and race continued.
(7) "CRAB TUG OF WAR" - contestants in deep water facing each other with rope looped over the back of the head as in tug of war. Swim as in crab race.
(8) "DOG BITING" - stretch cord four feet above surface in deep water. To thi3 suspend on individual cords sausages so that they hang six to eighteen inches above the water. Start upon signal and swim to sausages; without bringing hands out of water bite or eat the sausages.
(9) "CANDLE RACE" - turn out lights; contestants enter dressed in nightgowns and carrying lighted candles; line up on the mark. Upon the signal to start they slip into the water and race to the opposite end carrying candles in the mouth, in one hand or in both hands; undress and race back to starting mark. Disqualification results if contestant swims with unlighted candle. Candles may be relighted by going back to start.
(10) "FLUTTER BOARD RACE" - contestants line up with one hand on end and one hand on board. Upon signal race to end. Finish by touching hand to end rather than end of board.
(11) "POLO BALL RACE" - as above except substitute water polo ball for flutter board.
(12) "RUN, SWIM AND PADDLE RACE" - contestants line up about fifty feet from water's edge. Upon signal run to water, swim to canoe and paddle to shore as fast as possible.
(13) "FEET TIED" - tie feet together at ankles with roller bandage or bookstrap and swim with arms alone. Vary by strapping water polo ball between ankles with straps and swim longer races.
