Pare and core apples; cut them in pieces; bake or stew them with as little water as possible; when completely fallen and sweetened, put them in a pie dish, and, when cold, pour over them an unboiled custard, and put back into the oven till the custard is fixed. A Dutch oven will do. Equally good hot or cold.
