The Uterus. — Pressure can be made on the uterus by spanning the hand across just above the crest of the pubes, the fingers on one side and the thumb on the other ; the patient should then inhale deeply when the thumb and fingers are drawn together to the centre ; the hand then relaxes and the patient exhales. This movement is repeated several times and is very useful in prolapse of the uterus.
Exercises.—1. Abduction of the knees.
2. Circumduction of thighs.
